Wedding Prep

I almost assumed that I would be the kind the kind of bride that cared a lot about the details.  Not quite a bridezilla, but definitely set in my ways (after all, though I'm quite free spirited, I'm also stubborn once I've decided on something).  But then again, my husband is not the stereotypical "guy", and I should have known better, than to think he'd just want to hang on the sidelines during all the wedding preparations!  (My husband is the kind of guy, who likes the cupboards to be in a certain order, ha!  So how could I not realize, that he'd want the centerpieces a certain way, too?)

Engagement

Having talked and shared everything as early on as possible, I knew right away that my husband wanted to go to Minnesota and continue his education at an art school there *I remembered from geography class that Minnesota was "somewhere up north", but I didn't want to share my ignorance on the matter, so after we talked, I went right away to the library, and looked it up on a map, and realized that it was actually just beneath Canada!  That's about as north as you can get in the US!* We never seemed to question whether I was going to come up with him or not - it merely was a given between us, and when we had only been together for six months, we packed up all our stuff and found ourselves the smallest studio apartment in Minneapolis.

Courtship Story

I should probably be careful how I word this - only because I don't think we ever once called it a courtship while we were dating, but looking back at it, we both realized that's exactly what we were doing.

How We Met

We had both been hurt in the past by our significant others, and by the time we caught each other's eyes, we really didn't even know how to approach one another - far too nervous to really "jump in".  Later on, we shared that on more than one occasion, we had seen each other around the college campus, and just stared in the background, trying to find the strength to approach one another, but even then, days, and weeks passed before I finally developed an impromptu plan!
